The Epiphone DR-100 is the best looking acoustic guitar in its price range by far:

 

Vintage Sunburst Finish

The first thing I like about the Epiphone DR-100 is how cool this guitar looks! A lot of other beginner acoustic guitars that I see out there all skimp on the paint job in order to reduce the price. Epiphone never skimps on the finish and the DR-100 is a great example of this. I like the vintage sunburst finish the most, and I often hear people tell me that the DR-100 looks way more expensive than it really costs. For under $100, I get a huge kick out of all the compliments since I know a few friends who've wasted thousands on high end acoustic guitars.

Epiphone Logo Ebony Pickguard and Les Paul Style Headstock

Another thing I really like about how the Epiphone DR-100 looks is the Les Paul style headstock on it. It really gives the guitar a meaner look than a lot of other acoustic guitars with plain looking boring headstocks. Also, I like the Epiphone logo on the plastic ebony pickguard. It gives the guitar a nice finishing touch that, along with the inlays, makes this guitar truly shine over the other guitars in the beginner price range that it competes with.

Excellent Warm Tone:

 

The Epiphone DR-100 is an excellent sounding guitar because of the woods that it's made out of. The DR-100 has a Mahogany body and neck that are both very dense woods, which makes the vibrations travel down the neck and into the body better than a less dense wood. The solid Spruce top and Rosewood fretboard, along with the Mahogany neck and body mentioned before, all have very warm tonal characteristics to them. It's pretty cool that Epiphone uses some of the most desirable woods for high end acoustic guitars for their inexpensive acoustics.

Smooth Action:

 

The Epiphone DR-100 has such a nice smooth action thanks to the dual action steel truss rod in the neck. The truss rod is adjusted at the factory before leaving and what that does is it allows you to change the height of the strings off of the fretboard of the guitar. This is crucial because many other cheap acoustics out there have strings that feel like they're a mile off the neck of the guitar. With the DR-100 you won't have to worry about those silly problems because it's fairly easy to adjust the truss rod yourself and set the strings to whatever height fits your fancy.

Never worry about going out of tune with the Epiphone DR-100.

Many other cheap acoustic guitars out there fall out of tune very quickly and it's a huge waste of time. Epiphone is known for making acoustic guitars that stay in tune for a long time. This is for three reasons.

For one, Epiphone uses a special 14 degree bent headstock design that is said to alleviate some of the pressure of the guitar strings off of the tuning machine. This is supposed to help reduce the amount of slippage of the gears in the headstock since less tension on them, thus resulting in the guitar staying in tune much better.

The second reason is that Epiphone uses only high quality die-cast chrome tuners that are very strong and long lasting. Many other cheap guitars out there use crappy tuners because they know they can get away with cheating you there.

Thirdly and finally, the steel dual-action adjustable truss rod in the neck that I mentioned before keeps the mahogany neck of the guitar perfectly straight, even under all of that tension from the strings. Many other acoustics out there use cheaper spruce necks that can bend and warp over time.

Like I've been saying to you this while time, the Epiphone DR-100 is an excellent choice for any guitarist, whether you're a beginner or expert.
